Fiji - Time to build

Kingston City Church has decided to help Bethel Christian Family Centre, Suva (BCFC) build their first church building.

The Suva Church has been located on their current site since 1993.  It is on Kings Road Nasinu, a suburb of the Fiji Capital, Suva.  BCFC adapted an old house for a church and have made three extensions over the ensuing years to provide for the growth of the congregation and a preschool that operates during the week.

The leadership of the KCC sensed God leading them to step out in faith and conduct a capital stewardship campaign in the church to help build a new building on the Suva site.  We have joined the leadership of BCFC in taking on the challenge of trusting God for his provision to see the money raised for a church to be built.  We also see it as an opportunity for the congregation in Fiji to rise to the challenge trusting God and going to a new level in their own giving.

Kingston CC set a goal of raising pledges for $50,000 a year for two years ($100,000).  We set a faith goal of $60,000 a year (120,000); in the first year we have exceeded both figures and have received pledges of almost $75,000.

At the present time, we’re doing the preliminary work on preparing the site and formulating a plan for the building.  In the next two years, there will be an opportunity for teams to travel from Australia to Fiji to contribute to the various stages of construction.
